Makna Sarafa dan Derivasinya Dalam Al-Qur'an (Studi Analisis Semantik Al-Qur’an Perspektif Wahbah Al-Zuhaili Dalam Tafsir Al-Munir)

Abstract

In the Qur'an there are various beautiful words and meanings, because in it there are the same words but have different meanings or one meaning but have different word forms. Of the many words in the Qur'an, the one that is full of meaning is the word sarafa. The word of sarafa is often only understood to mean turning away or rejecting, without understanding that the word of sarafa and its derivations have a neglected category of meaning. The research method used is the semantics of the Qur’an which was popularized by Toshihiko Izutsu with its theory of basic meaning and relational meaning, namely from a syntagmatic and paradigmatic perspec-tive. The research results show that the basic meaning of sarafa is to reject, mislead, turn away and ignore. The relational meaning of the word sarafa syntagmatically has several meanings including: turning away, avoiding, confronting, explaining repeatedly, rejecting, and leaving. Furthermore, paradigmatically, the word sarafa is synonymous with the words: A'rada, Ajnaba, Dhahaba, and Fassala. Meanwhile, the words Qarraba and Thabbata are words that are opposite to the word sarafa. Changes in the form of derivation in the sarafa sentence in the Qur'an have more influence on the structure of the sentences that accompany it or the sentences that follow it.
